One day, all my friends will leave me. It’s happened before and it’ll happen again. I’ve always been the lone wolf-dog wandering the world, and though while not always alone, it always comes like the crash of waves on the beach. It’s painful each time the waves wash away my friends. And try as I might to make better walls and protect myself, people get through. They always get through, and I love them for that. In they come but out they go as well. One day, all my friends will leave me. It’s happened before and it’ll happen again. And each time, I hope the end never truly comes…

Relics from the past

I remember in elementary school when we had to save our homework to a floppy disk in the library so we could work on it at home. I’d always accidentally erase it by sliding it back and forth.

I would play with the slider all the time. I never had the misfortune of having my homework erased because of it. My dad has some really old records laying around and there’s a beta machine somewhere in my house.

I love sliding it back and forth…

I was curious about the lines on solo cups the other weekend and learned something amazing. This information should be taught in an intro class to all high schoolers and college students.

It turns out that the lines of the solo cup allows you to measure out a shot, a glass of wine, and a beer. This would have been ridiculously helpful during my partying years!

We are such a new generation. In a short while, we’ll be parents and grandparents that have already lived a digital life. Just imagine if we gave up our current YouTube Channels and Tumblrs to our kids? Or if our kids took up our mantles or collabs? Or think of it this way. When Picasso died, people have been looking for old, unfinished, hidden works of his for years. So what about us? I bet I’m not the only one hat has privated videos, or hidden videos, or stories locked away in Google Docs or Evernote. It’s amazing to think that after we die (hoping that the Internet and the system as a whole continues) that we’ll have a digital legacy that’ll exist on and on. Just imagine, having a Facebook account that’s chronicled your life from 13 all the way to 80! We cringe now when our parents are on Facebook and sends us Friend Requests but what is it going to be when we’re on the opposite side? Is there going to be a Facebook even? And when we do die, I see it as how super-heroes die in comic books: we’ll need a system in place to set things in order. There’s a site already ‘http://deadsoci.al’ that sort of does this but imagine, you pass and you need a friend to have access to all your accounts and passwords so that they can tell folks that you’ve gone on and died. It’s already kind both weird and heart-warming to see video and pictures from 5 years ago, but what say 30 years ago? And what about live-blogging? I’ve already seen live-blogging of weddings and births, but what about deaths? How long before we have that going on? Often I dwell on the past but sometimes like tonight I’m very interested with how the future can go.
